Appointed to full-time position at Dutchess Community College

I am very happy to announce that I have been hired as the Chair of the Music Certificate Program and Department Supervisor of Music at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, New York (about 2 hours north of New York City). I will be teaching Music Theory I & II, Aural Skills, Music History, Jazz History, and conducting the Jazz Ensemble beginning in Fall 2008. I will also supervise the adjunct music faculty and be in charge of curriculum and recruiting. I started this job search exactly one year ago and want to especially thank all the people who stuck by me during the long haul, providing me with invaluable advice and recommendations - special thanks to William Berz, Maureen Hurd, Paul Cohen, Mark Terenzi, and Zende Clark. I will be moving to the area in August, so if anyone knows the area and has any recommendations on where to live (Poughkeepsie, Beacon, etc.) and suggestions on where to look for availability, that would be great. I am looking to rent a small house or apartment; of course as a musician, being able to play music - along with fairly easy access to NYC and the area - is important.
