Today is part three of a four part blog about my August 11 performance for the ABSTRACTIONS exhibit at the Perkins Center for the Arts in Collingswood, New Jersey.
I responded immediately to the colors and texture employed by artist Keith R. Breitfeller. In the industrial style gallery these "pops" of color made a strong impression. After the performance, which started with "Melodies for Saxophone" by Philip Glass, Keith told me that he often listens to Glass while painting. I was happy to hear that, since it meant to me that I had correctly identified a real connection between the art and music in that space.
